The Lock Haven men’s basketball team used a huge second half to run away with a 94-64 victory over Penn State Scranton in a non-conference game inside Thomas Fieldhouse on Monday night.

With the victory, Lock Haven improves to 2-1 on the young season and Penn State Scranton falls to 2-2.

Lock Haven featured 12 different scorers and held advantages in paint points (48-12), second-chance points (19-6) and bench points (48-37) in total team effort.

The Bald Eagles dominated the glass and out-rebounded the Nittany Lions 42-25, including a game-high 21 from the offensive end. Luke Kennevan led all scorers with 21 points, while adding eight rebounds, six assists and a game-high four steals.

Devon Nelson had his best game in the crimson and white, finishing with 19 points on an efficient 6 of 8 shooting from the field.

Blake Deegan secured a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double and also blocked a pair of shots. Dyllon Scott chipped in 11 points and six rebounds off the bench, while Mike Knouse finished second on the team with nine rebounds, also off the bench.

After a back-and-forth first half, the Bald Eagles turned up the pressure on defense, leading to easy transition buckets, including several highlight-reel dunks.

After leading by just seven (44-37) at the break, Lock Haven went on to outscore the Nittany Lions 50-27 in the second half, headlined by a game-high 17 made free throws.

Lock Haven defense held PSU-S to just 33 percent (21-of-64) shooting from the floor, including just nine makes in the second half.
