Kegler’s Korner: Day rolls an 847 series to lead the area
Last week in the Monday Night Classic League, Tim Day rolled an 847 series, which not only topped all local bowlers for the week, but also was the highest series bowled so far this season. Danielle Barlet again topped the ladies with her seventh 700 series of the season, a 720 in the Thursday Night Bowling League, edging out Brenda Stopper’s 700 on the nose in the Brenda Welshans Memorial League.
Also topping the 800 mark were Mark Congdon’s 812 in the Monday Night Classic, Steve Prince’s 805 in the Saturday Night Moonlighters League, and John Heck Jr’s 803 in the Intercommunity League. Alcia Edkins tossed a 265 in the Monday Night Classic to lead the women in the high game department, while Day and Heck each used a 300 game to reach their 800 series, and were matched by Mark Artley’s perfect game on the sports shot in the Three-Man Major League.
Honorable mentions go to Brad Pepperman who tossed a 780 series on the strength of a 299 game in the Three-Man Major and Markus Budda who shot a 299 in the Monday Night Classic.
