Lycoming hosts Washington & Lee in Cape Charles Bowl today

Lycoming wraps up its football season with one last game today, playing at home against Washington & Lee in the Cape Charles Bowl at noon.
The Warriors beat Juniata last week, 24-16, on the road to close out the regular season 5-5. Lycoming’s defense has played well the last four games, not allowing more than three touchdowns against any opponent.
The only opponent to score 24 in that span was Western Connecticut State.
Lycoming secured the win last week against Juniata with a fourth-quarter touchdown to gain separation after leading by just one point. Spencer Ferguson scored with 2:37 to play in the third quarter on a 1-yard run for a 17-16 lead before he then had a 3-yard touchdown run with 7:06 to play for the eight-point lead.
The Warriors had 237 rushing yards last week, led by Terrence Oliver’s 111 yards and Ferguson’s 92 and two touchdowns. Lycoming’s Joe Lyons threw for 149 yards and a touchdown as he went 12 for 21.
Oliver will look to improve to his already outstanding 2025 season. The Warrior has 1,222 rushing yards this year through 10 games, averages 6.4 yards per carry, 122 per game and has nine rushing touchdowns.
Lyons has thrown for 1,770 yards this year with 13 touchdowns.
Washington & Lee is 6-4 entering today’s game. The Generals lost their regular-season finale against Shenandoah 17-14. The Generals have been led by Ryan Clemens’ 898 rushing yards and eight touchdowns and Anthony Crawford’s 701 yards and nine touchdowns as the two have proved to be an outstanding 1-2 duo in the backfield.
Ty Collins leads Washington & Lee with 980 passing yards.
Defensively, Will Knight has a team-high 2 1/2 sacks for Lycoming while Randolph Smith and Israel Rivers each had two sacks and Malik Hardy, Cooper Taylor, Wesley Covert and Cole Sheppard both have a sack each.
