Penn College women beat Mount Aloysius by 11 in basketball
CRESSON — Penn College knocked off Mount Aloysius, 66-55, in a non-conference women’s basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 6-1, while the Mounties fell to 0-4.
Five points from Lexi Troup, and a pair by Breana Valentine, helped Penn College to 7-0 lead to start the game en route to a 23-15 first quarter advantage. PCT outscored MAC, 14-12, in the second to lead 37-27 at the break. The Wildcats outscored the Mounties, 16-13, in the third, while MAC outpaced Penn College, 15-13, in the final quarter.
Troup finished with a season-high 22 points, including 5 of 12 from behind the arc. She added four assists and grabbed four boards. Valentine finished with 17 points, five assists, and six rebounds.
St. John Neumann graduate Gigi Parlante scored six points with five rebounds and three assists and Loyalsock graduate Mia Patterson scored five with three boards and an assist and block.
Penn College returns to action Tuesday, 3 p.m., at Penn State Berks.
