Seven Lyco athletes selected to the Landmark Conference All-Sportsmanship team

The Landmark Conference announced seven Lycoming College student-athletes were selected to its Fall All-Sportsmanship team.

The Landmark Student-Athlete Advisory Committee created the All-Sportsmanship Team in 2023 to recognize student-athletes who epitomize the ideals of sportsmanship. The student-athletes serve as ambassadors for the team — both on and off the field — and lead their teammates toward their goals. The honorees exhibit respect for themselves, their teammates, coaches, opponents, spectators, and the greater campus community.

The honorees for Lycoming include Hughesville graduate Kenneth Draper (men’s cross country), Sydney Taylor (women’s cross country), Loghan Shelly (field hockey), Mario Samony (football), Cole Sharpnack (men’s soccer), Amelia Nieman (women’s soccer) and Cameron Upcraft (women’s volleyball).

• Consistently the men’s cross country team’s top finisher throughout his career, Draper finished his career with a 55th-place finish at the Landmark Conference Championship (27:57.59) and took 127th at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional (28:46.51). He was also the men’s cross country team’s sportsmanship honoree in 2024.

• Taylor was consistently one of the women’s cross country team’s top runners throughout the 2025 season, as she led the team with a 26:24.38 at the Landmark Conference Championship and a 27:47.75 at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional. She was also the women’s cross country team’s sportsmanship honoree in 2023.

• Shelly, a key midfielder on the field hockey team that helped the team reach the Landmark Conference Championship for the first time, finished the season with five goals and two assists. In three years with the team, Shelly has 12 goals and five assists in her career.

• Samony, a defensive back, played in all 10 games for the Warriors, posting 21 tackles, notching 1.5 for loss and tying for the team lead with two interceptions, while breaking up two other passes. Samony appeared in 24 career games, defending nine passes in his career.

• Sharpnack, a defender, started all 19 games for the Warriors, helping hold the opposition to just 20 goals all season. He also tallied his first career goal in his final home game, a penalty-kick score against Wilkes. Sharpnack finished his Lycoming career with 47 games played and 28 starts over three seasons.

• Nieman appeared in all 20 games this year, making three starts for the Warriors as a midfielder, helping the team as it posted a school-record 17-2-1 record.

• A four-year starter, Upcraft led the Warriors with a .276 hitting percentage and 0.86 blocks per set as a senior, finishing her career with 685 kills and 256 blocks.
