Four Warriors in double digits in Lycoming women’s 73-30 win

Four Warriors scored in double-digits to lead the Lycoming College women’s basketball team to a 73-30 non-conference victory over Penn State Berks on Monday at Lamade Gym.
Lycoming (3-3, 1-1) held Berks (1-8) to just a 20.5% clip from the field, forced 31 turnovers, and outrebounded Berks, 39-23.
The Warriors shut out the Nittany Lions, 20-0, in the opening quarter, allowing no points in the first 10:35 of the contest. The Warriors stretched the lead gradually to 36-10 at the half.
In the second half, Lycoming’s offense began to click more, as the Warriors shot 52% (13 for 25) after halftime, including sinking a trio of three-point attempts in the third quarter, as the Warriors shot 47.1% (24 for 51) for the night, while also going 20 for 24 (83.3%) from the free-throw line.
Lycoming grew their lead to 41 points late in the third quarter and stayed around that margin for the final 10 minutes, outscoring Berks, 37-20, in the second half en route to the 43-point margin.

In a balanced effort, the Warriors were led by senior Allison Fisher and junior Alyssa Reisinger, who each scored 13 points. Fisher was 3 for 4 behind the arc, while Reisinger scored in double figures for the first time this season while matching a season best with six rebounds.
Junior Ann-Marie McMurtrie reached double figures for the first time in her career with 11 points on 5 of 7 shooting, as well as a team-high seven rebounds. Freshman Ciara O’Hara also scored a career-best 11 points, while swiping four steals and going 5 for 6 from the free-throw line.
Penn State Berks was led by Hailey Miller with seven points and six rebounds.
The Warriors will return to action Saturday when they hit the road for a Landmark Conference matchup against Drew University. Tipoff from Madison, N.J., is scheduled for 4 p.m.
