Lamper’s huge game helps Muncy rally past Neumann

Nixon Lamper put together a monster breakout performance, scoring a career-high 21 points and grabbing 17 rebounds as Muncy rallied in the fourth quarter at St. John Neumann and won, 47-43. Lamper, a first-time starter, had not reached double figures in a game but showed how dangerous he can be, connecting on 10 field goals, controlling the boards and adding three steals. Jaxton Frantz scored 11 points and dealt four assists, helping Muncy close on a 12-4 run. Dominic Guardini added nine points and nine rebounds. Daiton Thompson scored 14 points for Neumann, while Jahki Brister and Connor Haswell each had 10.

Six South Williamsport players scored at least eight points, four reaching double figures, as the Mounties won their second straight, defeating rival Montgomery, 67-43. Bobby Regan scored 12 points, grabbed six rebounds and dealt three assists, while Andrew Walter (11 points, 10 rebounds) produced his second straight double-double. Levi Butler and Samir Moy each had 11 points, Neeko Bowen eight and Chance Quimby eight, along with five assists. Damaj Stewart-Williams scored 15 for Montgomery and Parker Bennett had 11.

Jason Harer had a big night for North Penn-Mansfield, scoring a career-high 23 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in a 57-36 win against Cowanesque Valley. Layne Cummings also reached a career-high, scoring 13 points. Levi Stahli had 18 points for CV, while Josh Teague pulled down 10 rebounds and Ashtyn Burdick nine.

Ten players scored, leading a balanced effort as Wellsboro defeated Sayre, 50-19 for its second straight win. Luke Rothermel scored a game-high 13 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Ethan Keane dealt a team-best six assists.

Luke Kreger scored 19 points and added five rebounds in North Penn-Liberty’s 63-45 loss at Athens. Conner Lewis was strong on the boards and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Trey Teribury scored 20 points, helping Troy defeat Canton, 86-17. The Trojans scored 57 first-half points.

In girls’ basketball, Carrie King scored 13 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dealt six assists but Danville scored 13 straight fourth quarter points and rallied past Milton, 42-39. Elizabeth Schrock had 13 points and seven rebounds for Milton, while Camryn Hoover and Lainey Snyder combined for 11 rebounds. CeCe Coombe scored 29 points for Danville.

Jersey Shore played strong defense, holding an opponent to fewer than 40 points for a fourth straight game, but could not rally from a fourth quarter deficit in a 33-26 loss at Bloomsburg. Freshman Marlee Lehman scored eight points for the Bulldogs and Delaney Zentner had 16 for Bloomsburg.
