Golf tip of the week: Chip to an imaginary bull’s eye when playing

PHOTO PROVIDED Imagine a bull’s eye around the flagstick.

Imagine a bull’s eye around the flag stick when chipping. The further away, the bigger the circle. Try lagging the chip to the imaginary target as if you were tossing a ball to the target area.

Just simply chipping to the hole doesn’t give you much of a chance. The larger target will give you more confidence.

When chipping to the flagstick or hole without an imaginary bull’s eye, you will find the ball too far past or short of the hole. On longer chips, the goal is to get within two feet of the flagstick.

Don’t forget to enjoy this great game called golf.
