Kegler’s Korner: Day rolls an 824 for second straight 800 series
Tim Day led off last week’s action by rolling an 824 for his second consecutive 800 series in the Monday Night Classic League, leading all local bowlers for the week. Top female bowlers for the week were Kara Emmert whose 648 series in the Lycoming Engines League tied Alicia Edkin’s series in the Intercommunity league.
Also breaking the 800 mark were Jim Horton with an 802 in the Thursday Night Men’s league and Tony Bixby with an 801 in the Intercommunity.
Day’s series included a 300 game, which was matched by Brad Pepperman on the sports shot in the Three-man Major League, while Chuck Wannop came up one pin short of perfection with a 299 game in the Retires League. That same league saw Brenda Brownawell capture the week’s female high game honors with a 257, which exceeded her average by more than 80 pins, as did Tom Gower’s 258 in the Faxon Sport league, while Steven Guffy outdid both, by bowling more than 100 pins above his average with a 268 in the Noxaf league.

Did you know?
The forfeit rule is a little known and, thank goodness, seldom used rule. Rule 11 states: No unreasonable delay in the progress of any game is permitted. If a player or team in a league or tournament refuses to proceed with a game after being directed to do so by a league or tournament official, the game or series shall be declared forfeited.
Hope to see you on the lanes.
