A slow start doomed Bald Eagle Area as the Eagles’ boys basketball team lost to Bishop Carroll, 64-33. Bishop Carroll led after the first quarter by 21 points and never looked back.

Bald Eagle Area didn’t have anyone reach double figures as Jackson Milward and Chase Cane each scored six points for the Eagles.

Bald Eagle Area was held to three first-quarter points and scored just 11 by halftime.

Bishop Carroll was led by Jace Casses’ 27 points and Ryen Myers’ 14.

In girls basketball, Penns Valley outscored Central Cambria 27-8 in the first quarter, but an ice-cold second from the Rams turned the tide. There, Penns Valley mustered up one point as the Devils took a one-point lead into halftime, handing the Rams a 56-49 loss when it was all said and done.

Paige Johnson led Penns Valley with 16 points and was followed up by Sydnie Dalton, who contributed 14 and hit three treys amidst the team’s hot start. On the other side, Central Cambria’s Katie George led all scorers with 27, playing a key role in the team’s comeback in the second.
