Sullivan County made a statement Tuesday night at home, defeating South Williamsport for the first time in five years. Ansley Baldwin scored 15 points; Eva Fresno 14 and the Griffins won, 40-34. Baldwin also generated six rebounds and five assists. Alana Olson was big on the boards, collecting 12 rebounds and Bethany Eberlin added seven. Sullivan (5-6) already has two more wins than last season and has won five of its last eight games.

Ava Eyer collected her fourth straight double-double and Muncy did not allow a first half point, defeating Millville, 36-7. Eyer scored 11 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, made six steals and added four assists for her second double-double in two nights. Anna Zalonis also scored 11 points and made six steals. Rachel Paulhamus made six steals and Emma McCormick four as Muncy (9-0) remained undefeated.

Loyalsock built momentum for Friday’s showdown against Hughesville, allowing just six points through three quarters in a 48-12 win at Warrior Run. Jaekairah Harden scored 16 points and made four steals, while Alaina Dadzie added 13 points, eight steals and seven boards as Loyalsock (7-3, 2-0 HAC-III) won its fourth straight game. Maddie Wertz produced nine points and five rebounds as well.

Hughesville beat Bloomsburg by 40 points in a 60-20 rout. Maddie Smith scored 19 points while Vivian Draper added 16 for the Spartans.

• Wellsboro secured a 53-51 win over Northern Tier rival Wyalusing in boys basketball. Luke Rothermel scored a team-high 19 points and Colin Fletcher scored 17. Wyalusing was led by Myles Kershner’s 18 points and Tyler Caplan’s 16.

• In boys wrestling, Milton beat Lewisburg, 52-18, in a dual match. A string of five consecutive wins resulting in 29 points from 160 through 285 pounds helped lift the Black Panthers to the win.

Chase Lytle had a tech fall at 160 against Ethan Long, 21-4, 5:15 before Jackson Wertz (172), Michael Runkle (189), Montgomery Fisher (215) and Keegan McCaffery (285) all had falls in under a minute. Wertz pinned David Tling in 16 seconds, Runkle pinned Barner in 49 seconds, Fisher pinned Patrick Fleck in just eight seconds and McCaffery had a 51-second pin voer Hunter Hollenbach.

Canton fell to Athens, 39-21. Canton’s Carson Castle had a 7-6 decision win over Joshua Saxon at 114. At 160, Carson Rockwell of Canton pinned Ryan Howard in 2:18 and at 215, Leland Pepper of Canton pinned Athens’ Landon Layman in 1:36.
