Penn College’s Landon Reeder, a Montoursville graduate, sent Bardo Gym into a frenzy after his game-clinching three swished through with zeroes on the clock in an exciting 96-93 United East Conference victory over Wilson on Saturday. The win moved the Wildcats to 2-2 against conference opponents, 3-12 overall, and dropped the Phoenix to 1-3 UEC, 5-11 overall.

Reeder set a career-high with 28 points on 10 of 17 shooting and 3-for-5 from deep. He also grabbed 12 rebounds to collect a double-double joining Octavio Alexander who finished with 21 points and 10 boards and Jay Henry who put out a 16-point, 10-assist double-double to aid in the victory.

After a game-opening three by Wilson, Henry got a bucket and the foul to tie the game. The Wildcats settled in with a 30-16 run through the first nine minutes of action to gain their first double-digit lead of the day. Henry and Reeder poured in eight each, Alexander scored seven and Peyton Murphy added five points in the drive.

Wilson closed to within three, 47-44 just before the half.

In the second frame, the Phoenix came back to lead 52-51 with 16:20 to play as the two sides worked through seven lead changes over the next three minutes before a Murphy three pushed the Wildcats to a 62-59 lead.

The Wildcats kept their lead until back-to-back 3s by the Phoenix knotted the game at 93 with one minute to play.

Penn College heads to Penn State Berks for a 5 p.m., tip-off on Tuesday.
