Penn College dropped a 72-58 decision to Penn State Harrisburg in a United East men’s basketball contest Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 2-4 UE, 3-14 overall, while the Nittany Lions remained at the top of conference at 7-0, 11-7.

Penn College held the lead for the majority of the first half and took its largest lead, 25-12, on a Kendall Bratten layup with 6:31 left in the opener. Harrisburg answered with an 18-4 run to take its first lead, 30-29, with 2:07 before the break and eventually led 34-32 at halftime.

After the Lions built a six-point, 43-37 lead with 15:48 left in the second, the Wildcats responded with a 10-1 spurt at led 47-43 on Owen Newcomer’s three with 14:07 left in the game. Neyshawn Mabry’s dunk gave PCT a 49-45 advantage minutes later, but the Lions answered with 10-0 run to regain the lead for good.

Bratten led Penn College with 13 points off the bench, while Newcomer finished with nine, and Cydae Joseph-Davis added seven points and eight rebounds.

Penn College returns to action Wednesday, 5 p.m., at Lancaster Bible College.
