Shore grad McCracken leads Lycoming in loss to Catholic
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sophomore Jocelyn McCracken, a Jersey Shore graduate, scored 12 points in her third-straight double-digit scoring effort to lead the Lycoming College women’s basketball team against the Catholic University of America, which claimed a 97-45 Landmark Conference win on Saturday at Franny Murray Court.
Lycoming (6-11, 2-8) was within striking distance for the first ten minutes, trailing Catholic (12-5, 9-1), 17-12, after the opening quarter. However, the Cardinals took control of the game with a 22-5 second quarter to take a 39-17 lead at halftime. The Warriors offense ticked upwards in the second half, but Catholic expanded the lead further.
McCracken scored her 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting, while also securing five rebounds. Senior Allison Fisher notched nine points and four rebounds, connecting on a trio of 3-pointers. Freshman Lena Walker, a Central Mountain graduate, scored a career-high seven points on 3-of-5 shooting and sophomore Summer Emlet added five points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Catholic was led by Olivia Bocella, who went 8-for-10 from three-point range for 24 points. Raquel Guidetti scored 13 points and Lauren Kraft added a dozen points for the Cardinals, who had 17 different players score in the game.
The Warriors will finish a three-game road swing on Wednesday when they head to Wilkes-Barre, Pa. for a Landmark Conference matchup against Wilkes University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. from the Marts Center.
