Shore grad McCracken tallies double-double for Lycoming vs. Drew
Sophomore Jocelyn McCracken, a Jersey Shore graduate, netted her second career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds as the Lycoming College women’s basketball team fell, 53-46, to Drew University in Landmark Conference action on Saturday at Lamade Gym.
McCracken tallied 12 points and career-high 11 rebounds as she scored in double figures for the fourth straight game. Freshman Ciara O’Hara added nine points off the bench, while senior Allison Fisher notched eight points and eight rebounds, and McMurtrie scored seven points and pulled in a career-best 13 rebounds for the second straight contest.
After a tight first quarter that was tied at 14, Drew (12-7, 7-5) opened up a seven-point lead at halftime. Lycoming (7-12, 3-9) put the clamps down in the third quarter, holding the Rangers to just four points in the period and taking a 37-34 lead into the final ten minutes.
The Warriors started the fourth strong, stretching their lead to 46-38 on a layup by junior Ann-Marie McMurtrie with 5:10 remaining. Drew, however, ended the game on a 15-point run.
Olivia Aliotta led Drew with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Jocelyn Kingsley tallied 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Warriors will be back in action on Wednesday for a Landmark Conference matchup against Goucher College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Lamade Gymnasium.
