Williamsport boys win 2nd straight game

Tevin Williams scored 15 points and Kason Ulmer 11, helping Williamsport win for the second time in three nights as it defeated Holy Redeemer on the road, 53-45. The Millionaires (6-5) outscored Redeemer, 30-21 in the second half. Ethan Chilson and Quincy Williams each scored nine points and Chilson drained three 3-pointers.

Three Sullivan County players scored in double figures, helping the Griffins turn a one-point halftime deficit into a 61-49 win against visiting South Williamsport. Lucas King led the way with 19 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Tucker Blasi went 7 of 10 from the field, producing 17 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Cayden Smithkors added 12 points with eight rebounds and Sullivan (9-2) changed the game with a 19-6 third quarter run. Levi Butler scored 18 points for South (5-4), while Neeko Bowen had 12.

Daiton Thompson scored a career-high 32 points and Jahki Brister added 17 as St. John Neumann thumped Northwest, 83-35. Thompson scored 26 of his points in the first half as the Knights built a 51-21 halftime lead. Nine players scored for Neumann (4-6) and Legend Dillard and Kane Meixel each had seven points.

Jaxton Frantz scored 18 points and made seven steals, helping Muncy win its fourth straight by defeating Millville, 63-31. Frantz also had four assists. Dominic Guardini scored 17 points and pulled down five rebounds, while Caleb Beaver and Jermain Morgan grabbed 11 rebounds off the bench. Kyran Lisembee dealt five assists and made three steals for Muncy (10-3).

Kingston Fisher scored a season-high 18 points and Montoursville allowed just 13 second half points in a 60-35 win at Central Columbia. Fisher was one of three Warriors in double figures with Elijah Eck scoring 12 and Cam Cintron 10. Shea Ulmer added nine as Montoursville (10-2, 2-0 HAC-II) won for the 10th time in 11 games.

Four players scored at least nine points, helping Lewisburg defeat Milton, 63-36. Cooper Mowry had a game-high 16 points, Nazir Meredith 11, LJ Tucker 10 and Cortland Michaels nine. The Green Dragons (7-4, 2-0 HAC-II) put the game away with a 28-point third quarter.

Parker Bennett scored a game-high 16 points, but CMVT rallied from a four-point halftime deficit and defeated Montgomery, 32-30. Damaj Stewart Williams added 8 for the Red Raiders.

In girls’ basketball, Haley Litzelman produced her seventh double-double, going for 24 points and 12 rebounds in North Penn-Liberty’s 39-27 win at Williamson. She also made 7 of 8 free throws in the fourth quarter, helping the Mounties (4-5) seal the win. Serena Boiywo grabbed six rebounds and Scarlett Graham, Collette Frey and Victoria McTish all had five. Olivia Nolan scored seven points for Williamson (3-5).

Starr Ordway scored 15 points and Addy Lanza a career-high 14 as Cowanesque Valley defeated Sayre, 49-12. Lilah LeBarron added eight and CV allowed just five first half points while building a 23-point lead.

Kameron Lightner collected her sixth double-double, generating 14 points and 18 rebounds in North Penn-Mansfield’s 44-34 loss against Athens. She added three steals. Maddy McNamara had eight points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals. The Tigers (4-4) led 10-1 after the first quarter and 16-11 at halftime before Athens flipped the game with a 19-8 third quarter run.
