CHRIS MANNING/Sun-Gazette Correspondent Williamsport's Lillian Rumsey, right, competes at last year's state championships. On Saturday at the Mid-Winter Mayhem Tournament, Rumsey won the title at 124 pounds and in the process, won her 100th career match. Williamsport’s Lillian Rumsey made history on Saturday at the Mid-Winter Mayhem Tournament with a 5-4 decision against Benton’s Callie Hess.

That win in the finals at 124 pounds gave Rumsey 100 wins for her career, becoming the first-ever girls wrestler to hit the 100-win milestone and third in District 4 history. She joined former standouts Emily Murphy of Montgomery (103) and Hanna Rathbun of Athens (102).

Rumsey won the title by picking up a tight 5-4 decision over Hess. In the championship semifinals, Rumsey beat Chloe Stiles of United by decision, 2-0, and had a fall in 3:24 in the championship quarterfinals over Addison Claassen of Plum. Rumsey led that bout, 11-2, before securing the pin.
