Fourth-quarter defense propels South girls past Bucks
After three quarters of even basketball, the South Williamsport girls stiffened up defensively, holding the Bucktail girls to just two points through the fourth to win on the road, 47-31. Prior to the quarter, its lead was just five.
Carly Quimby hit four three-pointers to lead the Mounties with 16 points. Ella Moore made it two Mounties to surpass double figures, finishing with 13. And Maddie Reidy added nine. For Bucktail, Eva Sockman led the way, scoring 16 of the team’s 31 points on the night. Kendall Wagner followed her up with eight.
