• Thanks to three-hit efforts from senior first baseman A.J. Llorente (a Montoursville graduate), senior outfielder Josh Bottger and junior outfielder Eric MacCluen, the Lycoming College baseball team opened its 2026 season with a 12-1 win over Guilford on Friday afternoon, Feb. 13, at McBane Field, producing 16 hits in the team’s first season-opening win since a 2-0 win at Dickinson in 1970.

Lycoming (1-0) built its lead with four runs in the second inning, as Bottger singled in MacCluen with the first run before a fielding error helped junior designated hitter Anthony Guzman score, setting up RBI singles from Perkins and Llorente. The Warriors added single runs in the fifth, with Llorente reaching on an error to score senior Nick Hoheb, sixth, with Hoheb scoring MacCluen on a single, and seventh, with senior third baseman Brody Lindsey, to take a 7-1 lead. In the opener, the Bald Eagles opened the scoring in the top of the second inning after Madison Harvy doubled down the left field line to plate Gianna Goodman.
