Lycoming has ten players score in loss on road at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE — Ten Lycoming College women’s basketball players found the scoring column in an 89-39 setback at Susquehanna University, which is receiving votes in the D3hoops.com national poll, in Landmark Conference action on Saturday afternoon at O.W. Houts Gymnasium.

Susquehanna (18-3, 11-3) scored 27 points in the opening quarter and held a 30-point lead at halftime against Lycoming (7-14, 3-11) in the second half.

Sophomore Jocelyn McCracken, a Jersey Shore graduate, led the Warriors with eight points and five rebounds, while senior Victoria Burton contributed six points, senior Allison Fisher chipped in five points, and junior Sydnie Stone, a Montoursville graduate, and sophomore Summer Emlet each added four points off the bench.

Stone’s day included the first three-point make of her college career while freshman Anna Delaney buried a late three-pointer for her first collegiate points.

The River Hawks were led by 21 points and nine rebounds for Julia Roth, while Carly George racked up 19 points and 14 rebounds, with Annie Greek chipping in 13 points and a trio of 3-pointers.

The Warriors will be back in action on Wednesday with a Landmark Conference matchup at second-ranked Scranton. Tip-off from John Long Gymnasium is scheduled for 7 p.m.
