Penn College women roll to United East playoff win vs. LBC
Penn College rolled to a 76-42 United East women’s basketball quarterfinal victory over seventh-ranked Lancaster Bible on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats improved to 20-6, Lancaster Bible concludes its season with a 11-15 record.
The win also marked Coach Mohney’s 100th career victory. The Wildcats will host #3 Penn State Abington on Tuesday, time to be determined.
Penn College started the game hot with a 20-5 run in the opening quarter to take a commanding lead. St. John Neumann graduate Gigi Parlante led the first period with seven points. Lexi Troup and Kayla Herzer both scored four and RaeAnna Andres added three after Mia Patterson started the game with a mid-range bucket.
The Wildcats stayed in front to take a 38-16 lead at the half, outscored the Chargers 18-11 in the third and 20-15 in the fourth to earn its 20th win of the season, marking their best record in program history.
Herzer finished with a game-high 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds and three steals while dishing out three assists. Parlante scored a 17-point, 10-goal double-double and had a team-high four steals. Troup and Patterson both finished with 13 points.
Penn College out-shot Lancaster Bible 46% (34-74) to 25% (14-56) and forced 20 Chargers turnovers in the victory.
