A capsule look at Warrior Run vs. Audenried

Warrior Run’s Aiden McKee dribbles towards the paint while defended by Lewisburg’s Jaylen Walker during a Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference semifinal, Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at Shikellamy High School, in Sunbury.

Warrior Run (25-2) vs. Audenried (9-15) at Pleasant Valley High School, 7:30 p.m.

Warrior Run road to Sweet 16: In District 4, beat Wellsboro, 73-39; Mifflinburg, 64-48 and Southern Columbia, 70-65, OT; In states, beat Dunmore, 72-54

Warrior Run notes: Warrior Run is making its second straight second round appearance and trying to reach the quarterfinals for the first time since 1999. The Defenders captured their first district championship since 1988 by rallying from a seven-point fourth quarter deficit and defeating Southern for a fourth time. It was the third time they did so in overtime. Warrior Run hammered Dunmore last Saturday, leading by as many as 22 points in the fourth quarter. Five players scored at least 11 points and James Keifer had 22 with eight assists. Clayton Skokoski scored 16 off the bench and Aiden McKee and Ethan Balzer both collected double-doubles. Landon Polcyn added 12 points, six assists, five rebounds and sparked the defense. Warrior Run’s only losses are against Class AAAA second round qualifiers Carver Engineering and Sciences and district champion Lewisburg by eight combined points. The Defenders erased a 12-point fourth quarter deficit against Carver, forcing two overtimes.

Audenried road to Sweet 16: In District 12, lost to West Catholic, 66-50; In States, beat Catasauqua, 68-62

Audenried notes: Like Warrior Run, Audenried is making its second straight Sweet 16 appearance, losing to Holy Cross, 58-55 there last year. Again, too, the team’s record is deceiving since Audenried plays a lot of excellent teams from the Philadelphia Catholic and Public Leagues. That was the case last year as well and the top seven teams from the Public League reached states this season. Nathan Lee is a versatile 6-foot-7 forward who was a Public League all-star selection. Sophomore guard Melvin Clarke had a big game against Catasauqua, scoring 27 points. Lee averaged 13 points and 10 rebounds per game as a sophomore a year ago. Clarke effectively runs the offense and started as a freshman, finishing as one of the team’s assist leaders. Audenried has won four of its last six games.

Winner plays: Notre Dame-Green Pond or Lancaster Mennonite
