Winning Bowler of the Week honors this week are Randy Drake and Natalie Whitesell. Whitesell shot a 750 series in the Thursday Morning Mixed League, including a 278 game which exceeded her average by 84 pins. Drake rolled a 300 his first game on his way to an 812 series in the Monday Night Classic League.

Close behind Whitesell was Alicia Edkin who fired a 740 in the Intercommunity League after rolling a 726 the night before in the Monday Night Classic. Edkin’s 279 game in her 740 series took high game honors for the women. In the Thursday Night Bowling League, Ernie Wentzell matched Drakes’ perfect game, as did Dave Royer and Chris McGee in the Brenda Welshans Memorial League.

Billy Kepner could have posted the third 300 for that league but ended up with a 299 when he couldn’t get that final pin to fall. In the Sunday Night Social League, Matt Horn’s 269 game was 85 pins above his average.

In 2017, Walter Gibbs bowled an 879 at Faxon Lanes. That was the third-highest sanctioned series ever bowled in the Williamsport area, while Gibbs, at the age 73 years and seven months, became the second oldest local bowler to post an 800 series.
