This week we remember 2003 local Hall of Fameinductee Larry Long. Starting his bowling career in the late 1960’s at the age of 12, Long bowled the first of his 14 career 300 games in the 1985 County Tournament. He bowled nine 800 series, including his career high of 816, between the late 1980s and the mid 2010s.

During the 1992-93 season, Larry posted his career high average of 228, which was the ninth highest seasonal average ever posted in the County at that time. In 15 County Association tournaments, Long claimed nine championships. He compiled a 195 overall average in 18 ABC National Tournaments, and he participated in every local invitational doubles tournament from 1982-98, attesting to the fact that his yearly average was among the top 24 averages for male bowlers in the county in each of those seasons.

Hope to see you on the lanes.
