LHU baseball opens PSAC West schedule by beating Clarion
LOCK HAVEN — The Lock Haven baseball team opened its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West schedule with a 4-3 victory over visiting Clarion on Saturday. Lock Haven fell 12-3 in game to for the split.
In game one, Clarion struck first with two runs in the top of the third, but Lock Haven answered quickly with four runs over the next two innings, led by a three-run home run by Cayden Robertson.
Clarion cut its deficit to 4-3 in the sixth, but Caleb Zimmerman shut the door in the seventh to earn the save for Lock Haven.
Andrew Kramer got the start for Lock Haven and went six-complete innings, while allowing just one earned run and striking out four hitters.
Robertson homered and Tom Rohan drove in a run to headline the Lock Haven offense.
Despite only out-hitting Lock Haven 11-10 in the nightcap, the Golden Eagles took advantage of four Bald Eagle errors to plate 12 runs to run away with game two, 12-3.
Lock Haven scored all of its runs with a rally in the third inning, led by two RBIs by Jerry Lambert and the fourth RBI of the day by Robertson.
Jackson Bower and Cayden McCloskey also added a pair of base knocks.
The Bald Eagles wraps up their series with Clarion on the road tomorrow afternoon.
