Montoursville boys tennis team defeats Williamsport 5-0
Fans who braved the chilly weather on Monday afternoon got to see an exciting match at No. 1 doubles at Williamsport High School as the Millionaires and Montoursville’s top doubles teams played a three-set thriller.
In the end, Montoursville’s Cole Snyder and Rain Snyder earned a 6-0, 4-6, 10-6 win against Charles Plummer and Joseph Hillman to lead the Warriors to a 5-0 sweep against the Millonaires.
Teli Bobotas of Montoursville won at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, against Wyatt Judge. Gio Catino picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win against Spencer Kaar at No. 2 singles and at No. 3 singles, Colby Ulmer beat Howard Chen, 6-0, 6-1.
At No. 2 doubles, Montoursville’s Cullen Pauling and Mason Fry picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win against Richard Chen and Brayden Swanson.
The loss drops Williamsport to 1-1 as the Millionaires host Jersey Shore on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
