Serb gem leads LHU baseball to series split against Shippensburg
The Lock Haven baseball team took on the Atlantic Region’s eighth-ranked Shippensburg today (Mar. 15) in a non-conference doubleheader at Watkins Field. The Haven won game one 2-0 and fell in game two 12-1.
Lock Haven falls to 3-13 on the season, while the Raiders improve to 13-5.
GAME ONE
Lock Haven was led on the mound by Tyler Serb, who threw a gem for the Bald Eagles. Serb went all seven, with three strikeouts and allowed only six hits.
Lock Haven was outhit 6-4, despite the victory.
The two Bald Eagle runs came across in the second by a pair of Raider miscues.
Four different Bald Eagles found the hit column.
GAME TWO
In game two, Shippensburg went on a hit barrage, securing 12 base knocks to plate 12 runs en route to victory.
Logan Shrawder singled in the seventh and came around to score on a Kaden Rodarmel single to plate the lone run for the Bald Eagles.
The Bald Eagles return to action on Tuesday to host Kutztown in a nine-inning contest. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. at Watkins Field.
