Golf tip of the week: Improve your chips by rotating the chest
PHOTO PROVIDED Chest rotation is key to the golf swing, regardless the distance.
Golfers who chip poorly need to rotate the chest back and through. The hands should remain quiet when chipping. The club and hands must remain in front of the chest throughout the chipping motion. Take the club back by rotating the chest and finish by rotating the chest through the hitting area.
It is a very simple motion, similar to a door opening and closing. The golf club just stays in front of the chest, and the rotation continues through the hitting area and beyond. Don’t allow the hands to dominate the chest is in charge. Distance is controlled by how much the chest rotates.
The biggest mistake a golfer makes is slowing the chest down and speeding up the hands, you must keep the chest rotating after impact.
Don’t forget to enjoy this great game called golf.
