Golf tip of the week: Single-length irons could improve your game

By RICK MUSSELMAN 1 min read
Single-length irons were introduced in the 1980s but just caught in the past few years due to better engineering.

If you struggle to hit your long irons, single-length clubs could be the answer.

The single-length construction ensures all possible elements of swing feel are identical for each club in the set. Being all the same length, matching MOI, total weight, the same head weight and balance point increases the chances for consistent shot-making, regardless of the iron utilized.

Another plus, a golfer can address the ball the same with each iron without changing the ball position and distance they stand from the ball. Custom clubs are recommended to get the proper length, shaft specifications, and correct lie.

TWGT’s STERLING irons have three lengths to choose from: 36 1/2 inches, 36 3/4 inches or 37 inches. Most other single iron manufacturers only have one length being 37 1/2 inches, which can generate too much distance with the higher lofted irons.

Don't forget to enjoy this great game called golf.
