Local roundup: Morgan rolls first 300 of her career

Last week in the Monday Night Classic League, Brandon Koser started out with the first 11 strikes, finishing with a 299 before bowling a 300 his second game on his way to an 816, the top male series for the week. That same league saw a pair of 700 series for the women, as Christiana Gottshall’s 771 beat out Danielle Barlet’s 756 for top female series of the week.

In the Intercommunity League, Beth Morgan posted the first 300 game of her career, propelling her to a 749 series. Close behind Koser was Markus Budda who shot an 802, including a perfect game of his own in the Thursday Night Bowling League. The Monday Night Classic also saw Brett Nogle toss a 300 game, while Dave Rhoads rolled a 299 game in the Saturday Night Moonlighters League.

Most pins over average honors for the week go to Denise Rupert whose 243 game was 81 pins above her average in the 10+6 Ladies Legue, and Dylan Isley who exceeded his average by 77 pins with a 278 in the Thursday Night Men’s League.

MAYBE YOU CAN HELP

Starting April 18, the local association will be hosting the Pennsylvania State Women’s Bowling Tournament on most weekends through the end of May. The association is looking for volunteers from among our local bowlers to help with the tournament, including such tasks as lane monitors, 50/50 and raffle ticket sellers and souvenir stand monitors.
