Milton has four girls win at least two events each; Cintron leads Montoursville boys with two wins
MILTON — Montoursville competed in a dual meet against Milton on the road. The team scores for the boys and girls competition weren’t made available.
Milton had four athletes claim two wins each on the girls side in Brianna Holovich, Jayanah Jones, Elizabeth Schrock and Sienna Short.
Holovich won the 1,600 with a time of 6:00.71, winning by nearly 13 seconds, and won the 3,200 in 14:22.71, winning by more than 40 seconds.
Jones won the 100 hurdles in 16.94, just beating out Montoursville junior Faith Berwanger, who took second in 17.19. Keister of Milton took a win in the 300 hurdles in 48.34 as Adelyn Montgomery of Montoursville was second in 51.29. In the long jump, Jones picked up win No. 2 as she had a jump of 17-1 1/2 to win.
Schrock won the triple jump with a leap of 35-5 1/2 and took a win in the high jump with a height of 5-0.
Short, a junior, was actually a three-event winner. She won the discus with a throw of 97-1, beating out teammate Alexis Bergey (92-11) and Short won the javelin by throwing 118-11, winning by four feet over teammate Carrie King (114-2). Short’s final victory was the shot put with a throw of 33-8, the only athlete to break the 30-foot mark in the event.
Milton’s Maeve Ficks won the girls 100 in 13.42 and teammate Adalynne Haas took second in 13.81. Haas was second in the 200 as Evalynn Keister won in 27.58 for Milton.
In the 400, the Black Panthers’ Hayden Snyder broke a minute in 59.95 to win. The Black Panthers went 1-2-3 in the 400 as Claire Dick took second (1:05.75) and Zoey Majors (1:06.15) was third.
Milton’s Adelyn Bush won the 800 in 2:31.40.
Montoursville sophomore Allie Eberhart won the pole vault with a height of 10-0, winning by two feet.
On the boys side, Montoursville sophomore Cameron Cintron claimed three wins, two of which came in the hurdles. In the 110 hurdles, Cintron won in 17.66 and in the 300 hurdles, the Warrior ran a time of 42.94 for a victory. Milton’s Lucas Shearer took second in the 110 hurdles in 19.04 and Joseph Nietling took second in the 300 hurdles for Milton in 43.55.
Cintron won the high jump by clearing 5 feet, 67 inches, winning by just two inches over teammate Issac Erlandson (5-4).
Milton’s Tanner Bardoe, a junior, won two events as he ran a 4:51.52 to win the 1,600 and a 10:58.55 to win the 3,200. Cy Haight of Montoursville was second in both events in 4:57.56 and 11:10.42, respectively.
Montoursville’s Brayden Burkett claimed two wins as well on Tuesday. He won the long jump by clearing 19-4 1/2 as Milton freshman Kamryn Wilson was second by jumping 18-4 3/4. In the triple jump, Burkett cleared 38-1 to win as Wilson took second again, this time with a leap of 36-8 1/4.
Bryce Winslow won the 100 in 11.37 seconds, beating out teammate James Williams (11.90). In the 200, Milton freshman Chris Santiago ran a 24.30 to win as Montoursville’s Simon Dietrich took second in 24.71.
Montoursville’s Adam Shearer was a winner in the 400 in 52.57 as teammate Williams ran a 53.51 for second. Santiago took third (54.61). Milton junior Orrie Godown won the 800 with a time of 2:08.84.
Milton’s Lucas Shearer won the pole vault by clearing 10-0, winning by six inches over Montoursville freshman Ryan Williams, who took second with a height of 9-6. The Black Panthers’ Alex Krall, a senior, won the discus by throwing 138-0, the only thrower to break the 120-foot mark. Aiden Petrowski of Montoursville was second (117-7).
In the javelin, Montoursville’s Miles Davis threw 138-6 to win by more than 10 feet over Milton’s Schuyler Humphrey (126-8). Milton’s Blaze Kozicki won the shot put by throwing 43-0.
