Montoursville, Lewisburg athletes compete at Milton in track tri-meet competition

MILTON — Montoursville’s boys track and field team split with Milton and Lewisburg, beating the Black Panthers, 83-67, but losing to the Green Dragons, 80-69. On the girls side, Milton beat Montoursville, 119-30, and Lewisburg beat Montoursville, 124-26.

Lewisburg boys fell to Milton, 75.33-73.66, and the Lewisburg girls beat Milton, 91-59.

Lewisburg’s girls team finished the season undefeated at 5-0 while the Lewisburg boys finished the season 3-2.

Evalynn Keister of Milton, a sophomore, and Lewisburg junior Ziva Williams both claimed two individual events on Thursday.

Keister set a PR in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.57, beating out Jayanah Jones by 0.09 seconds. In the 200, Keister finished in 27.03, beating Liana Davis of Lewisburg, a junior, by less than half a second.

Lewisburg had two throwers break 100 feet in the discus as Williams, a junior, won with a throw of 109-6 and Gwynn Rowe took second with a throw of 102-7. Williams also won the shot put witha PR of 34-11. Rowe also reached a PR as she threw 34-1 for second.

Maeve Ficks of Milton ran a 12.84 in the 100 to set a PR and pushed Liana Davis of Lewisburg to reach a PR as well as she ran 13.15 for second place.

In the 1,600, a pair of Lewisburg runners reached PRs as freshman Kaelyn Bozella won in 5:31.24 and Theo Wilkinson, a senior, took second in 5:34.66. Claire Dick of Milton took third in 5:42.21.

In the 400, Madison Moyers of Lewisburg won in 1:02.35 as teammate Payton Spigelmyer took second in 1:04.54. Ficks was third and set a PR in 1:05.68. Katherine Batkowski of Lewisburg took first in the 300 hurdles in a time of 47.34 followed by Milton’s Evalynn Keister in 49.47 and Faith Berwanger of Montoursville in third in 51.44.

Lewisburg went 1-2-3 in the 800 with Annika Shields running a 2:34.56 to win, followed in order by Lauren Schwartz (2:35.77) and Claire Driver (2:38.42).

Lewisburg senior Maya Sak won the 3,200 with a time of 12:05.24, beating out Wilkinson by almost 13 seconds. Kaelyn Bozella, a freshman, of Lewisburg set a PR in 12:22.41 for third place.

Senior Lydia Delsite won the high jump for Lewisburg with a height of 4-10, beating Milton’s Elizabeth Schrock (4-10) based on misses. Delsite passed from 3-10 to 4-8 and cleared 4-10 on her first attempt, but missed clearing 5-0. Lauren Asche of Lewisburg reached a PR for third with 4-10.

In the pole vault competition, Allie Eberhart of Montoursville, a sophomore, won with a height of 10-0. Eberhart passed from 6-0 through 8-6 and cleared 9-0, 9-6 and 10-0 on her first attempts. She passed on 10-6 and attempted to clear 10-7, but missed on her three attempts. Shields was second (8-6).

Jones of Milton set a PR in the long jump with a leap of 17-2 1/4, beating out Delsite who cleared 15-10 for second place. Shrock of Milton won the triple jump with a leap of 34-7 1/2, followed by Montoursville sophomore Dahlia Campbell in second (34-5 1/2) and Jones in third (33-11 1/2).

Milton’s Sienna Short, a junior, threw 112-9 to win the javelin and Alexis Bergey took second with a throw of 102-4. Taking third was Lewisburg’s Teagan Osunde (101-10).

Earning two individual wins on the boys side was Lewisburg senior Jacob Weis and Lewisburg senior Justin Nolt. Weis won the 400 in 54.11, beating out Montoursville junior James Williams (54.65) and Bryce Winslow (55.27) in a close finish. Weis would also win the 200 in 23.60, beating out Chris Santiago of Milton, who took second with a PR of 23.86, and Montoursville’s Williams, who ran a 24.15 for third.

Lewisburg went 1-2-3 in the 1,600 as senior Justin Nolt won in 4:40.19, Hugh Ikeda Shields took second in 4:46.48 and Grayson Barner was third in 4:51.90. Shields would win the 800, however, with a time of 2:04.96, winning by almost a second over Barner, who ran 2:05.82. Nolt also was a winner in the 3,200 wtih a time of 10:24.05, beating Montoursville sophomore Cy Haight by just two seconds (10:26.12).

Montoursville’s team of Cameron Cintron, Bryce Winslow, Adam Shearer and Quinn Winslow ran a time of 43.65 to win the 400 relay, beating Lewisburg’s Sean Perez, Brian Davis, Isiah Bloomfield and JAcob Weis by less than a second in a tight contest.

Milton’s Joseph Nietling ran a 17.26 to win the 110 hurdles over teammate Lucas Shearer (18.47). In the 100, Cole Rhodes of Milton ran a time of 11.33 to win by 0.13 seconds over Lewisburg’s Jacob Weis. Sean Perez of Lewisburg, a freshman, set a PR in 11.71 for third.

Milton senior Jake Harris won the 300 hurdles in 43.74 as he beat teammate Gavin Swanson-Batman, who ran 45.22 for second, and Lewisburg’s Colin Beadle, who ran 47.76 for a third-place finish.

All top 3 finishers in the boys high jump set PRs. Lewisburg senior Rebira Jemama won with a height of 6-2, Cameron Cintron of Montoursville took second (5-10) and Drake Osunde of Lewisburg, a sophomore, was third (5-6).

Milton’s Lucas Shearer cleared 10-0 to win the pole vault competition while Montoursville’s Ryan Williams, a freshman, was second with a height of 9-0.

Montoursville sophomore Brayden Burkett set a PR in the long jump with a distance of 20-6 1/2 to win the event by just four inches over Milton’s Cole Rhodes. Montoursville senior Christian Banks had a PR in the triple jump with a distance of 39-5 to win as Burkett took second (37-6 1/4) and Montoursville junior Jordan Cohick was third (35-6 1/2).

Milton’s Alex Krall threw 133-4 to win the discus competition. Montoursville’s Grady Foster, a junior, took second with a PR of 121-0 and Montoursville junior Aiden Petrowski finished third with a throw of 116-9. In the javelin, Montoursville junior Wesley Foster threw 132-7 to secure a victory. Miles Davis of Montoursville was second with a throw of 130-0.

Montoursville senior Noah Rakestraw had a PR of 43-11 to win the shot put, beating out Milton senior Darren Bentley by just six inches (43-5).
