South Williamsport boys tennis falls to Selinsgrove in team tournament 3-2
South Williamsport fell in the preliminary round against Selinsgrove at home on Tuesday, 3-2. The win by the Seals advanced Selinsgrove to Thursday’s quarterfinals where they will face top-seeded Jersey Shore.
South Williamsport’s Dylan Webb earned a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles against Joaquin Basu. Webb’s victory was the lone singles win for the Mounties.
Selinsgrove’s Max DeFazio defeated Carson Harris at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-3 and at No. 2 singles, Selinsgrove’s Lomond Rodgers secured a 7-5, 6-3 win over Sawyer Fry in a hard-fought match.
South Williamsport’s Levi Jackson and David Miller won at No. 1 doubles over Nathan Lauver and Noah Scholl, 6-1, 6-4. At No. 2 doubles, the Seals’ John Ke and Grant Renn defeated Cameron Stahl and Nate Miller, 6-4, 7-6 (5).
