WR, South, Montgomery athletes have success in multi-dual with Sullivan, Bloomsburg, Meadowbrook
TURBOTVILLE — The area had plenty of success as Warrior Run, South Williamsport, Sullivan County and Montgomery competed in a multi-dual in Turbotville which featured Bloomsburg and Meadowbrook Christian as well.
Montgomery’s Jace Hanford won the high jump with a height of 6 feet, winning by eight inches of Warrior Run’s Carter McCormick (5-4). Dylan Sherman of Montgomery tied McCormick for second.
Tucker Blasi of Sullivan County won the long jump by leaping 20-0. McCormick was second (19-7 1/2). McCormick won the triple jump (38-5) and Warrior Run’s Ryan Kemock won the pole vault with a height of 13-6, the only pole vaulter to surpass the 9-6 mark.
Montgomery’s Rylee Wilson won the discus with a throw of 113-2, the only thrower to surpass the 100-foot mark. Abram Childs of Montgomery was third (95-9).
Warrior Run senior Gavin Cromley took home two wins in the hurdles events as he won the 110 hurdles in 15.79 and the 300 hurdles in 40.85.
Warrior Run’s Ori Kennel and Gideon Kennel took first and second, respectively, in the 200. Ori Kennel won in 22.62 and Gideon Kennel followed in 23.14. Sullivan County’s Tucker Blasi was third in 23.82. Maxwell Fogelman of Warrior Run took first in the 400 in 52.35 and Braego Cieslukowski of Warrior Run was second in 53.20. Montgomery’s Jermain Morgan took third in 53.36.
South Williamsport went 1-2 in the 800 as Spencer Beatty won in 2:11.51 and Gavin Freas took second i 2:13.00. Warrior Run’s Cooper Deitterick took third in 2:14.07.
Warrior Run’s Aiden Hoffman took first in the 1,600 in 4:43.01 as South Williamsport’s Adam Kuriga was second in 4:59.05 and Carter Blasi of Sullivan County was third in 5:18.42.
In the javelin, South Williamsport senior Jack Fortin won with a throw of 154-8 while Warrior Run’s Max Burden was second (127-7).
In the shot put, Montgoemry sophomore Josh Knoebel had a throw of 40-3 1/2 to win.
Warrior Run junior Natalie Hall claimed two individual victories for the Defenders. The sprinter won the 200 by running 25.96, beating out Montgomery’s Alexis McKeta (27.33), before claiming a win in the 400 in 58.63. She was the only runner to break a minute in the event as Addisyn Templin of Sullivan was second in 1:02.91.
South Williamsport’s Kendall Smith, a junior, ran 5:47.64 to win the 1,600 by two seconds over Sullivan’s Zoey Reese.
In the triple jump, Montgomery senior Rihanna Arredondo won with a leap of 32-5, beating out Lucy Maclay, who had the same score, by critera.
Warrior Run’s Olesia Cieslukowski won the pole vault with a height of 10-0 and Warrior Run’s Annabelle Pierce won the discus by throwing 119-9. In the javelin, Melody Gardiner of Warrior Run won thanks to throwing 97-2. McKeta of Montgomery was third (88-6).
Montgomery’s Mikaila Ganoe took second in the long jump with a leap of 15-1 and Templin of Sullivan was third (14-7). In the shot put, Montgomery’s Anali Pick took third (29-3) as Meadowbrook Christian’s Megan Reed threw 34-2 to win.
