David Bjorkman earned a three-set victory at No. 3 singles for Loyalsock against Danville, but that would unfortunately be the Lancers’ lone victory as the Ironmen earned a 4-1 win in the District 4 boys tennis team tournament quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals.

The win moves the Ironmen to 15-2.

Bjorkman beat Colin Sauers in the three-set thriller. Bjorkman earned a first-set win, 6-3, and then fell 6-3 in the second set. The Lancer settled in and battled in the third set to earn the 10-5 win.

At No.1 singles, David Sommer earned a win via walkover. At No. 2 singles, Danville’s Munjaal Mehta needed three sets to beat Nathaniel DePrenda.

Mehta swept DePrenda in the first set, 6-0, but the Lancer rallied for a 6-4 second-set win to force the decisive third. There, Mehta won 11-9 in a super tiebreak to secure it.

Another three-set contest unfolded at No. 2 doubles between Danville’s Chris Hand and Jimmy Zhang and Loyalsock’s Marco Blas and Luke Edmonds. Hand and Zhang won the first set 6-1 before Blas and Edmonds tied it up with a 6-2 win in the second set before the Ironmen pair closed it out, 6-1.

At No. 1 doubles, Danville’s Donovan Larson and Peter Gale beat Ian Bower and Daniel Taormina, 6-1, 6-3.

• Lewisburg secured a 3-1 win over Wellsboro to advance to the semifinals and will face Jersey Shore. At No. 1 singles, Wellsboro’s Luke Rothermel beat Canyon Swartzentruber, 6-3, 6-3. That was the only win the Green Hornets had.

Lewisburg’s Henry Heintzelman won at No. 2 singles in three sets, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0. At No. 1 doubles, Colby Jacob and Tyson Nicholls beat James Doughtie and Gideon Lawton, 6-4, 6-4. Clark Nicholls and Olin McIlwaine of Lewisburg beat Tavi Wyman and Stephen Poirier at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, 6-3.
