Montgomery’s Briar Persing named Mid-Penn MVP in baseball

The Mid-Penn released its all-star teams for baseball and the area had numerous players earn accolades.

Montgomery junior Briar Persing had a superb season on the mound and was named Mid-Penn MVP for his efforts and was a first-team pitcher.

Earning first-team baseball honors from the area included Montgomery senior Parker Persing (infield), Montgomery senior Parker Bennett (infield), Montgomery senior Mason Bryson (outfielder), Montgomery junior Lincoln Miller (catcher) and Montgomery junior Briar Persing (pitcher); Muncy sophomore Corby Gardner (outfielder); and Sullivan County senior Tucker Blasi (outfielder).

Also named to the first team was Benton junior Ben Farwell (infielder), Northwest sophomore Cole Kablick (infielder), Millville sophomore Landon Ellis (infielder), Benton freshman Cole Sorber (outfielder), CMVT senior Axton Koser (outfielder), Millville senior Shane Johnson (catcher) and Millville senior Curtis Whitmoyer (pitcher). Millville’s Bryant Fought was named Mid-Penn Coach of the Year.

Named to the second team were infielders Millville junior Dylan Brokenshire, Muncy sophomore James Barlow, CMVT junior Andrew Molick, Sullivan County sophomore Madden Fries and CMVT sophomore Miles Koser; outfielders Northwest freshman Caleb Ide, Benton freshman Owen Beishline, Montgomery junior Trace Furman and Northwest sophomore Conner Mason; catchers Muncy sophomore Kynton Fish and Benton junior Layne Latora; and pitchers Millville senior Chase Reynolds and Northwest senior Garret Bau.
