Bittner becomes first to repeat in RaceSaver sprints at Clinton

MILL HALL — Timmy Bittner of Beech Creek became the first driver to win two RaceSaver Sprint Car feature events this season. The winner of opening day returned to victory lane on Friday night. Cory Long has dominated the pro stock feature events this season adding another feature to his tally, Mac Wert won his second consecutive 270 micro sprint feature event, while Zak Kline turned his night around with a feature win in the SCDRA four cylinder division and Emery McGill won the junior sprints.
Cory Stabley brought the field of sprint cars to the green flag. By the completion of lap one, Bittner had the lead. Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven settled into the second position and Linden’s Dale Schweikart held the third position. By the completion of lap five, Bittner led Weaver, Schweikart, Josh Beamer and Stabley.
Matt Tebbs of Cogan Station charged into the top five on lap six. On lap ten, the caution flag waved for Stabley. Following the restart, Bittner kept Weaver’s challenges at bay to maintain his lead. With five laps to go Bittner was still leading Weaver, Schweikart, Beamer and Tebbs. By lap 22, Bittner had caught the rear of the field and had to navigate lapped traffic.
Bittner held on for with victory over Weaver, Schweikart, Beamer and Tebbs.
AY Schilling of Linden led the first two laps of the pro stocks feature event. Cory Long, who started sixth, charged to the front and took the lead by the completion of lap three. At the halfway mark Long was leading Kyler Stahl, Schilling, AJ Hoffman and Brent Gorder. Hoffman worked his way up through the field and took over second on lap nine. Stahl battled with Schilling with Schilling taking the third spot on lap ten.
Long continued to lead the final five laps to claim the win over Hoffman, Schilling, Gorder and Stahl.
Michael Petock started on the pole and led the opening laps of the 270 micro feature event. Cory Stabley advanced from the third spot into second place and Mac Wert took the third position on lap six. A lap-eight caution flag bunched the field up behind Petock, Wert was able to use the restart to pass Stabley. On lap ten, Stabley was involved in a caution, moving Wert into second. Mechanical misfortune would end Petcocks night allowing Wert to restart first with only five laps to go.
Wert brought the field back to green flag racing with Devin Dunmire, Denny Rhinehimer, Mason McAndrew and Garrison Zook in the top five. Wert would hold on for the final five laps to earn his second consecutive feature event.
Kevin Trimpey led the first two laps of the SCDRA four cylinder feature event. Richard Eldred took over the lead on lap three. By halfway through the race, Zak Kline charged from 12th into the lead, Kline started last, after rolling his primary car in the heat race. The team ran back to their race shop for a second car to compete in the race. Kline took the lead on lap six.
Jersey Shore’s Emery Macgill led every lap of the Rising Stars junior sprint feature event. Tyreece Bowmaster and Adilyn Bathurst completed the top three.
