Crosscutters see eight-game win streak snapped by Aberdeen on Saturday

ABERDEEN — The saying goes that all good things must come to an end and that is exactly what happened on Saturday night. On the road in Aberdeen, the Williamsport Crosscutters saw their eight-game winning streak get snapped at the hands of the IronBirds in a 13-10 loss.
Nate McHugh led Williamsport’s offense with a 2 for 4 performance with a double, walk and three RBIs. Ben Tryon recorded a double and triple by going 2 for 4 which also featured two RBIs and two runs scored. Loyalsock graduate Nick Barone (2 for 5, RBI) and KJ White (2 for 3, run) also contributed multi-hit nights for the Cutters.
Luke Meyers got the start and suffered the loss for Williamsport, allowing three runs on six hits over three innings of work. Jaden Noot allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits in 2 2/3 innings of relief. Will Howell worked 1 1/3 innings, allowing tow runs on one hit and Max McEwen allowed four runs on five hits as he worked the final inning in relief.
Williamsport and Aberdeen conclude their three-game series with a rubber match on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Ripken Stadium. Williamsport returns to Bowman Field on Tuesday for a series with the State College Spikes.
