Dewease earned 118th career win in the 410 sprints

Williams Grove Speedway raced on Friday and Lance Dewease notched his 118th career oval 410 sprint victory and claimed $8,000 in the Joey Allen Tribute Race. Cole Dewease won for the first time ever at the historic oval, taking the checkers in the 305 sprint main.

The All Stars Circuit of Champions Sprints return to Williams Grove Speedway for the second year in a row on Friday for the Lynn Paxton EMMR Legends Classic. The 30-lap All Stars main meant to honor late Williams Grove champion and racing historian Paxton will pay the winner $8,000.

The wingless super sportsman will join the 410 sprints on the racing card, competing in a feature only as part of the show. Dewease is the defending winner of the Paxton Classic after claiming the inaugural race last June. The Paxton Classic will be part of the 2026 Hoosier Diamond Series and Pa Posse Sprint Series at the oval.

At Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, a dramatic late-race turn of events propelled Chase Dietz to his fifth Lincoln Speedway victory of the season in the Silent Salute Foundation Fallen First Responders Race.

The 36-lap Pennsylvania Posse Series event for the 410 sprint cars paid $6,000 to win and served as a tribute to fallen first responders. Prior to the feature, emergency vehicles and specially wrapped sprint cars participated in a moving parade lap around the speedway, creating a memorable salute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

For Jayden Wolf, the victory was a long-awaited breakthrough after a season filled with speed but frustrating results. After suffering through a string of bad luck and several near-misses while running in contention for wins, Wolf finally put together a complete night, leading all 20 laps and cashing in on the $2,000 payday. The speedway is back in action on Saturday with the All Star Circuit of Champions 410 sprints and 358 sprints.

After nearly a month’s delay, it was finally time to embark on the 2026 season at Hummingbird Speedway on Saturday. It was an emotional evening as opening night marked the first event at the track since track owner Louie Caltagarone’s passing last October. Each of the six features that took to the track ran a pace lap in “missing man” formation to honor Caltagarone. It was also the first race for new program director Brian Nestor, who was named to the position back in March.

Hummingbird Speedway history was made Saturday night as there were seven women competing across all of our six divisions. That is the largest turnout of women drivers on a single night of racing in the track’s 62-year history. Those seven women were Shawnee Sturgeon in the pro stocks, Arianna Samuelson, Emily Stoyer,and Anastasia Vassen in the economods, Ashley Kilhoffer and Renae Meyer in the pure stocks, and Bryanna Anderson in the four cylinders.

Feature winners included Denny Fenton in the super late models, Tyler Rougeux in the semi late models, Fuzzy Fields in the pro stocks, Bob McMillen in the economods, Josh Fields in the pure stocks and Shawn Hadden in the four cylinders. The win for Rougeux was the first of his career.

Port Royal Speedway will welcome the stars of the Appalachian Mountain Late Model Speedweek series this Saturday as the Juniata County oval hosts a three-division program featuring the Speedweek super late models, 410 sprint cars and wingless sportsman.

The Appalachian Mountain Late Model Speedweek tour brings some of the region’s top super late model competitors to the Speed Palace as the series make their second stop of their schedule. Defending series champion Gregg Satterlee enters the event looking to continue his success at Port Royal Speedway after capturing last year’s Speedweek stop at the Juniata County facility.
