Hughesville’s Temple caps career with two HAC-II first-team honors

Hughesville senior Kylie Temple may not have defended her state title in the 300 hurdles with another gold this year at Shippensburg for the state meet, but the Spartan did leave Shippensburg with two gold medals and two silvers in her final trip.
The senior had an outstanding senior year and took home two individual first-team accolades for those efforts with the HAC-III all-star teams. Rick Glenwright and the Hughesville coaches earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
Kylie Temple was a first-team all-star in the 200 and 300 hurdles while sister Katelyn Temple was a first-team all-star in the 400. The Temple sisters were also part of Hughesville’s 3,200 and 1,600 relay teams which won gold and silver, respectively, at the state meet and those two relay teams — in addition to the 400 relay team which won state gold — earned first-team accolades. This was the first year that Hughesville sent all three relay teams to the state meet in girls competition.
Hughesville’s 400 relay team consisted of Kylie Temple, Katelyn Temple, Sierra DeWire and Casey Schultz. the Spartan’s 1,600 relay team was made up of Katelyn Temple, Kylie Temple, Fortin and DeWire.
Hughesville’s Grace Fortin was a two-time first-team all-star for the Spartans, garnering accolades in the 800 and 3,200 and Emelia Wolfe of Hughesville was a first-team all-star in the 1,600. Those two were also part of the Spartans’ 3,200 relay team which won gold at states.

Hughesville’s Katelyn Temple (100), Wolfe (800 and 3,200), Fortin (1,600), Sierra DeWire (300 hurdles) and Casey Schultz (high jump) were second-team all-star selections and Hughesville’s Evelynn emchbach (1,600), Sadie Turnbow (100 hurdles) and Kalia Hack (shot put and javelin) received honorable mention nods.
Loyalsock’s Zaryah Hawkins-Pegues was a first-team all-star in the shot put while Warrior Run’s Annabelle Pierce earned first-team honors in the discus. Natalie Hall of Warrior Run was a second-team all-star in the 200 and 400 and Warrior Run’s Olesia Cieslukowski was a second-team all-star in the pole vault. Warrior Run’s 1,600 and 3,200 relay teams were second-team all-star selections.
Hall (800), Loyalsock’s Hazel Zajack (3,200) and Warrior Run’s Alexis Shutt (pole vault) garnered honorable mention nods.
