NEWARK, N.J. – Former Lock Haven men’s wrestling standout Chance Marstellar earned a spot in the 2026 Final X to compete for a chance to represent Team USA men’s freestyle team at 79 kilograms.
Marstellar earned his spot in the 2026 Final X with an impressive performance at the 2026 US Open. Marstellar picked up a 6-0 victory over Patrick Kennedy in the semifinals before a 7-3 win over Evan Wick in the final.
Marstellar got a tough draw as he had to wrestle against Penn State standout Levi Haines. In the first round, Haines earned a 6-1 decision victory. He then followed by beating Marsteller in the second round, 6-3, to prevent the former Bald Eagle from advancing.
Marstellar was a two-time All-American and a member of the 2023 Senior World Team. Haines was the 2025 U23 World Champion and 2025 World Silver Medalist to go along with his two NCAA Championships.
