Just days after becoming the youngest golfer to ever qualify for the Pennsylvania Amateur Championship, 14-year-old Logan McGinn of South Williamsport added two more significant achievements to his growing resume.

At the U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifier, McGinn battled his way into a four-player playoff for the final qualifying position. After an intense three-hole playoff, he earned second alternate status for the 2026 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, one of the game’s premier junior events.

He followed that performance by claiming first overall in the 13-18 division of the Philadelphia Junior PGA Championship, earning a coveted spot in the 2026 Junior PGA Championship at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco in Frisco, Texas, later this summer.

The Junior PGA Championship annually brings together many of the top junior golfers in the country and has long served as a proving ground for future collegiate and professional stars. Earning a place in the national championship is significant step in McGinn’s rapid development against elite competition.

“It’s been an exciting stretch, but I know there’s still a lot of golf left to play,” McGinn said. “I’ve always wanted to test myself against the best players I can find, whether that’s junior golf or amateur events. Every tournament is another opportunity to learn, compete and see where my game stacks up.”

In addition to the Junior PGA Championship, McGinn is scheduled to compete in a U.S. Amateur Championship qualifier at Huntingdon Valley Country Club, multiple AJGA Junior All-Star events, the Pennsylvania Open Championship qualifier, the Golf Association of Philadelphia Open Championship qualifier — an event he qualified for last year as the youngest player to ever do so — and the Pennsylvania Junior Championship.

McGinn has consistently sought opportunities to compete against older and more experienced players, embracing the challenges that come with state, regional and national amateur championships instead of limiting his schedule to age-group competition.
