MID VALLEY — Warrior Run’s superb season this year ended on Monday afternoon in a tough, close loss on the road against Mid Valley in the first round of the PIAA Class AAA playoffs, 2-0.

Mid Valley scored a run in the fourth inning for a 1-0 lead before adding a run in the fifth to take a 2-0 lead. Warrior Run out-hit Mid Valley, 6-4, but the Defenders weren’t able to rally in the final two innings to score any runs.

Mackenzie Litchard threw a complete game for the Defenders, scattering four singles and striking out seven with just two walks issued.

Makenzie Heffner led the Defenders by going 2 for 3 and Lydia Keener went 2 for 3. Warrior Run also saw both Litchard and Cait Waltman go 1 for 3.
