Williamsport’s Morrow named HAC-I first-team in three events in track and field

JON GERARDI/Sun-Gazette Williamsport's Isabelle Morrow was named HAC-I first-team in the long jump, triple jump and high jump.

Williamsport’s Isabelle Morrow dominated at the District 4 track and field championships in Class AAA competition, claiming gold medals in the long jump, triple jump and high jump. It propelled her to states, where she just missed the podium in the high jump but did receive a top-8 medal in the long jump at Shippensburg.

Those three gold medals translated to three first-team HAC-I accolades in girls track and field. Morrow was the only athlete in HAC-I to garner three first-team honors as she led Williamsport’s contingency. Williamsport’s Vicki Eberhart and the Millionaires’ coaches earned Coaching Staff of the Year as the Millionaires won the team title at districts.

In addition to Morrow’s 3 for 3 sweep in the long, triple and high jump, Williamsport’s Isabelle Sanders was a two-time first-team all-star as she garnered honors in the 800 and 1,600 and sister Madeline Sanders was a first-team all-star in the 3,200 and second-team all-star in the 1,600.

Williamsport’s Aubrey Phillips-Cobb was a first-team all-star in the 100 hurdles and garnered second-team honors in the 300 hurdles. The Millionaires also saw Dayanna Baines (javelin), Aletha Fletcher (shot put), Ayanna Barbee (triple jump) and Loisa Hofstrom (800) all earn second-team accolades. Williamsport’s Desiree Ware (100), Hofstrom (1,600 and 3,200), Saniyah Bailey (300 hurdles), Brenlynne Rogers (discus) and Makayla Cerami (javelin) were honorable mention all-stars.

Jersey Shore’s Elizabeth Hollick, a freshman, earned first-team honors in the 300 hurdles. Jersey Shore’s Alison Bilbay (discus) and Aaralynn Kimble (400) were second-team all-star selections. The Bulldogs’ Bella Hensler (javelin), Hollick (high jump), Nina Steppe (shot put) and Kimble (300 hurdles) garnered honorable mention nods.

JON GERARDI/Sun-Gazette Williamsport's Isabelle (left) and Madeline (right) Sanders were both named HAC-I first-team all-stars in the 1,600 and 3,200 this year.

Central Mountain’s Macia Owens was named a honorable mention all-star selection in the 100 hurdles and was the Wildcats’ lone HAC-I all-star selection.
