Lewisburg’s Permyashkin earns Scholar All-American honors

Lewisburg graduate Viktor Permyashkin, a key member to last year's unbeaten Green Dragons team (24-0-1) which won the Class AA state title, was named a Scholar All-American from United Soccer Coaches.
He's just the fifth Lewisburg player to ever earn the honor, joining former Lewisburg standouts Joey Bhangdia, Nate Liscum, Ben Liscum and Carter Hoover.
Permyashkin scored 27 goals and had 17 assists last year. His 27 goals was most on the team and his 17 assists were behind only teammate Keegan Crosby. He averaged 1.1 goals per game and 0.7 assists per game.
His biggest goal of the season was arguably his game-winner in overtime against Faith Christian in the PIAA Class AA semifinals to send Lewisburg to the state final.
Permyashkin ended his career with 65 goals and 57 assists, becoming one of the few 50-goal, 50-assist players in Lewisburg history.
The Green Dragon had a 4.1 GPA this past year and he was one of three boys players from Pennsylvania on the Scholar All-American team, joining Northern's Finnley McCarty (Dillsburg) and Bentworth's Ryan Moessner (Bentleyville).
The only Pennsylvania athlete on the girls Scholar All-American team was Exeter Township's Mackenzie Mentzer (Reading).
A total of 117 student-athletes (63 girls, 74 boys) seniors were named to the team. The players were honored based on their cumulative achievement in the classroom as well as on the soccer field during their secondary school careers according to the United Soccer Coaches' organization.
