Alabama wins thriller over Pennsylvania in seventh inning 6-5

Brooks Cameron delivered one of the biggest hits in Phenix City Youth Baseball history Monday night at Lamade Stadium, smashing a walk-off single which scored Urijah Berklite as Phenix City, Alabama turned a five-run deficit into a thrilling 6-5, seven inning win against West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Phenix City won its second straight elimination game and knocked West Chester from the tournament, storming back after trailing, 5-0 in the third inning. Kinley Rasmus dominated in relief, throwing 4 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball, while striking out six and earning the win.
Phenix City scored its five third inning runs which tied the game with two outs after its first eight batters had been retired through 2 2/3 innings.
From there, pitching dominated, including Pennsylvania reliever Cole Warner leaving the bases loaded with no outs in the fifth inning. A baserunning mistake in the top of the seventh after the automatic ghost runner was bunted to third led to him being tagged out at home. Rasmus struck out the next batter and the stage was set for a walk-off win.
Casen Smith dropped a perfect bunt which moved Berklite to third and put him at first after Warner went for the out at third. Cam Lee was intentionally walked to load the bases and create a force at any base. Following a strikeout for the first out, Cameron capped the huge comeback, ripping his single up the middle and setting off a big celebration.
"It feels great. It's once in a lifetime," Cameron said. "I was just grateful to be in that situation."
Pennsylvania took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first when Dillon DiGiulio hammered a two-run triple down the right field line. Warner then had the large West Chester fans rocking two innings later when he followed Ryan Hennessey's RBI single with a long home run to left-center field, making it, 5-0.
Phenix City, however, used two-out thunder in the bottom of the third with six straight two-out batters reaching base. Cooper Champoin tied the game, 5-2 with a two-run single, Easton Allen belted a two-run double and Rasmus scorched an RBI single down the left line, tying the game.
