Seven was not the lucky number this series for the Williamsport Crosscutters as they scored seven runs for the second straight night but it again would not be enough as they fell to the Aberdeen IronBirds, 14-7, on Wednesday night at IBEW Local 24 Union Field at Ripken Stadium.

AJ Solomon and Nicholas Romano recorded the two multi-hit nights for Williamsport from the top of the lineup with Solomon going 2-for-4 with three runs scored and Romano going 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, and three RBI. James McCoy (1-for-3) and Matthew Williams (1-for-4) would each also add 2 RBI to account for the rest of Williamsport's runs driven in. In addition to the three runs scored by Solomon, Joey DeMucci would score two runs while James McCoy and Jake Zitella would each score one in the loss.

Evan Grimes got the start tonight for Williamsport and took the loss, following to 1-2, after allowing four IronBirds runs, three earned, on three hits with five walks and a strikeout in four innings of work. Kenney Fabian would only go one inning allowing six runs on six hits, including a home run. Luc Lavigueur went the next two innings allowing four runs, three earned, on three hits, including a home run, and a walk. Preston Drebes went the final inning and was the only Cutters pitcher to not allow a run, allowing just one hit and recording a strikeout.

Williamsport looks to avoid the series sweep against the Aberdeen IronBirds on Thursday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. at IBEW Local 24 Union Field at Ripken Stadium.
