The hope was for a big race weekend last week with the World of Outlaws vs. PA Posse. The challenge was on, but the Outlaws came out on top.
The World of Outlaws defending champion David Gravel claimed his third Williams Grove Speedway Summer Nationals Finale title on Saturday night by scoring $20,000 for a victory in the 24th running of the event. It was his 10th of the season on the World of Outlaws tour and the 11th overall of his career at Williams Grove Speedway.
Logan Schuchart finished second, Logan Rumsey finished an impressive third as the highest-finishing Pennsylvania Posse driver followed by Dylan Norris and Sheldon Haudenschild.
The Summer Nationals Finale victory was the second in a row for David Gravel at Williams Grove Speedway as he took the most recent event checkers in 2024, and the 2025 race was lost to weather.
The Friday preliminary was also claimed by the Outlaw’s when Buddy Kofoid romped to the win on opening night of the World of Outlaws Summer Nationals. The $12,000 victory was the second of Kofoid's career at Williams Grove and his 10th overall on the outlaws series tour in 2026. He would take the win by 1.873 seconds at the finish over Daryn Pittman, David Gravel, Logan Schuchart and Brent Marks.
In other action at Hidden Valley Speedway in Clearfield, Shannon Casher was subbing for his dad Aaron in the small block modifieds at the Speedway and he picked up his first win of the season and it just happened to be in the sixth annual Fay Lumadue Memorial.
Other new winners included Chaz Smith who won his first Hudson Valley four cylinder feature, Chad VanHorn of Danville picked up his first Hudson Valley win in the 600 micros while Rick Maxim picked up the win in the first ever visit for the crown vics.
Repeat winners included Brad Benton in the semi lates, Fuzzy Fields in the Penn Ohio pro stocks and Ryan Shaffner in the pure stocks.
After a two week hiatus racing resumed for the third race of the 2026 season at Hummingbird Speedway on Saturday night. Josh Fields led from green to checkered on his way to notching his third straight victory in the pure stocks to open the season. Dating back to last season, the win was his fourth straight as he won the final race of 2025. The super late models and semi late models each competed for some extra money for positions second through sixth. Paul Kot captured his second straight checkered flag in the super late feature while Doug Surra took his first trip to Victory Lane this season in the semi lates.
Other feature winners on the night included Andrew Gordon in the pro stocks, Bruce Long in the four cylinders and Bob Connor in the economods. Connor made it two wins in a row, while Gordon and Long were victorious for the first time this season. The win for Long was his first career win at Hummingbird.
Port Royal Speedway will salute the men and women who dedicate their lives to serving their communities during First Responders Night this Saturday, with an evening full of racing action. As a token of appreciation, all first responders with proper identification will receive general admission for just $10.
Coming up this weekend there are three Keystone King shows in Central PA as Williams
Grove Speedway runs Friday with Lincoln and Port Royal Speedway’s both running Saturday.
Chase Dietz currently leads the PA Posse 410 points and the Keystone King points.
