Williamsport's girls tennis team secured a 4- win against Selinsgrove. Audrey Dincher earned a 6-4, 6-3 win for Williamsport vs. Alexis Hoot at No. 1 singles and Lilly Judge won at No. 3 singles vs. Anna Yang, 6-3, 6-2.
Gianna Vitko and Madlyn Lundy won at No. 1 doubles against Talia Mowrey and Ashlyn Lehman, 6-1, 6-0 and aat No.2 doubles, Williamsport's Kylie Bungo and Maryam Zeshan beat Emily Longacre and Arlie Troup, 4-6, 6-3, 13-11.
First-year starters for the Jersey Shore girls tennis team notched their first career wins on Wednesday afternoon, but it wasn't enough to lead the Bulldogs to victory. Behind a strong singles out, Shikellamy edged out Shore, 3-2, as the Bulldogs fell to 0-2 on the season.
At No. 3 singles, Rylee Allison picked up her first career singles win for Jersey Shore, bouncing back from a first-set tiebreaker loss to take a thrilling three-set match. She scraped out the second set before dominating the second, winning 12 of her last 18 games.
At No. 2 doubles, Scarlett Hensler and Alainia Samar dominated to grant the Bulldogs their first point, dropping two combined games to win 6-1, 6-1. The victory mark the team's first doubles win of the season.
Loyalsock suffered a 3-2 loss to Central Columbia. Emily Crawford earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles while Caroline Crawford beat Truc-Nu Nguyen at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-7 (4-7), 10-7.
Wellsboro blanked Bucktail, 5-0. Amanda Goncalves won at No. 1 singles vs. Kelsie Wagner, 6-1, 6-0, Piper Anderegg beat carrie Ditty, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and at No. 3 singles, Serenity Mosher beat Riley Salizoni, 6-4, 6-1.
Milton suffered a 5-0 loss in girls tennis to Danville, who moved to 2-0. Josie Bendle beat Madison Coup at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and Danville's Alexa Preisz earned a 6-1, 6-1 win vs. Elliot Brosious at No. 2 singles.
Milton's Lilley Tilson lost at No. 3 singles vs. Ellen Pena, 6-2, 6-2.
• Wellsboro took third in a NTL golf meet, behind only Towanda (311) and Athens (315). Wellsboro was led by Chase Schultz' 83, Skyler Pietrzyk's 84 and Jackson Largey's 86. Canton saw Levi Vermilya shoot an 81 and North Penn-Mansfield's Alex Kalamaris and Benton Zay both shoot 79s. Cowanesqu was led by Danny Smith's 83, Grant Hills' 85 and Luke Hamilton's 94.
