Bison hope to snap two-game skid today

Bucknell is back on the road this week after last week's home loss at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium to Villanova, 17-16.
Bucknell is 0-2 and hoping to snap its losing skid to start the year as it travels to VMI today for a 12:30 p.m. kickoff.
The Bison lost a heartbreaker last week. Bucknell had a chance to win the game with a field goal from inside of 30 yards, but Bucknell missed it and Villanova proceeded to run out the clock to win by a point.
Christopher Dietrich went 29 for 39 for 245 yards and two touchdown passes in last week's loss to Villanova. Bucknell didn't have much success running the ball, however.
The Bison had just 60 yards as a team on the ground on 30 carries as Michael Cadden had nine carries for 37 yards and Dietrich had 12 for 18.
Five receivers caught passes against Villanova as Sam Milligan had a monster game, reeling in 13 for 135 and two touchdowns. TJ Cadden had seven catches for 52 yards.
Bucknell had two sacks in the loss as Jack INserra had one and Nick Hoying and Branden Biagiarelli combined for one.
VMI is searching for its first win like the Bison are. VMI fell to Idaho State, 38-10, before suffering a lopsided 73-3 rout to Virginia Tech under first-year new coach James Franklin after his tenure with Penn State.
VMI didn't have much success in any facets against No. 16 Penn State as VMI had minus-4 rushing yards as a team and threw for just 87 yards on 5 for 13 passing with an interception.
Against Rhode Island, VMI was held to 11 passing yards but saw rushing success as VMI had 229 rushing yards on 52 carries. Sixty-two of those yards came on seven rushes by Chandler Wilson and 49 by Trevin Simon on five attempts.
Bucknell will look to keep pressure on quarterback JoJo Crump to prevent him from shaking off two rough passing starts.
Bucknell's Milligan (receiver) and Biagiarelli (linebacker) earned 2026 All-Patriot League preseason all-star honors.
VMI has yet to score a receiving touchdown this year.
